Pantone have released their top 10 colour trends for Spring 2017 which they create in conjunction with New York Fashion Week. These are the colours that have featured on the runway and you will see used in weddings and events in the coming year.
The Australian Academy of Wedding Event Planning had a competition for it’s students to compete in a Pantone inspiration board competition and this was my entry featuring Pantone colour 17-2034 Pink Yarrow. I absolutely LOVE making Inspiration Boards – they really help create your vision for your event and keep you focused on the style you want.
“Tropical and festive, Pink Yarrow is a whimsical, unignorable hue that tempts and tantalizes. Bold, attention getting and tempestuous, the lively Pink Yarrow is a captivating and stimulating color that lifts spirits and gets the adrenaline going” (Pantone, Pressman 2016).
I tend to like to see bold colours kept to a minimum and letting them feature subtly alongside complimentary colours. I feel it gives them a bigger impact and so in keeping with that theory is what helped me curate this board. I love the pop of colour on the table setting and in the napkins as well as a touch of orange mixed in to florals and decor for a very bohemian, eclectic style.
The water colour calligraphy on the invited by Letter & Ink are vibrant yet not over the top as is the stunning cake by Whisk and Whittle with the pink icing slightly coming through – just divine. Agate is definitely on trend at the moment and these coasters by Rock Chic Homewares on Etsy are the perfect pop of textured pink.
